Direction de Hidrografia, Madrid, Spain, 1807 (Streeter 1029)1041, Lowery (721), 744

Corrected versions of the 1799 map, based on observations and soundings of Jose Antonio de Evia during his 1784-85 exploration of the Gulf of Mexico were published in 1803, 1805 and 1806. In 1807, the Carta Particular was published on a larger scale and with more revisions. It shows the coast between the Rio Grande and the Mississippi with the mouths and lower courses of six of the seven most important rivers (omitting the Brazos). The name Trinidad is used for the Trinity river, rather than the earlier Archisas. Carta Particular was still the authoritative piece in 1825 when the first president of Mexico ordered copies printed and distributed.
